Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This is a working draft, not formal legal advice. It's actively used to run this app, but hasn't yet had a lawyer's review — planned before wider launch.
Cheap Gains ("we," "us," "the App") is operated by Siloware, a sole proprietorship of Domenic Pond ("the Company"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Your bodyweight, sex, fitness goal, and budget — used only to calculate your grocery plan. Not stored on our servers unless you save a plan.
- Your email address, if you sign up for Premium — collected and processed by our payment provider, Stripe.
- Barcodes you scan or type in, sent to Open Food Facts (a third-party open product database) to look up product information.
Information stored via the app's saved-data feature: if you use "Save this plan," your grocery plan history, saved plans, and app preferences are stored in your browser so they persist across visits. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.
Information collected automatically: basic usage data may be collected to improve the app. If you see ads in the free version, our ad network(s) may collect data via cookies or similar technology to select and measure ads.
2. How We Use Information
- Generate your grocery and protein plans
- Save and reload plans you choose to save
- Process Premium subscription payments
- Look up product data when you use the barcode scanner
- Improve the app and fix problems
- Communicate with you about your account, if you have one
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Third-Party Services
- Stripe (payment processing) — handles all payment card information. We never see or store your full card details. See stripe.com/privacy.
- Kroger Developer API — used to look up store locations and product prices. Only a zip code and search terms are sent; no personal account login is required.
- Open Food Facts — an open, free product database used for barcode lookups.
- Advertising network(s) — used to serve ads in the free version. Premium subscribers do not see ads.
4. Advertising & Cookies
The free version of Cheap Gains may display ads, including "watch an ad to unlock" rewarded ads, served by third-party ad networks that may use cookies to select relevant ads and measure performance. Premium subscribers do not see ads.
5. Children's Privacy
Cheap Gains is not directed at, and should not be used by, children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the email below and we will delete it.
6. Your Choices & Rights
- You can use most of the app's features without providing any personal information.
- You can delete saved plans at any time from within the app.
- You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time through Stripe's customer portal or by contacting us.
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us to make a request.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe, which maintains its own industry-standard security practices.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
